This piece, ``Ran (Sunlight),'' which depicts a red orchid, has a companion piece called ``Ran (Moonlight),'' which depicts a white orchid. Both works were painted in 1992, when Katsushika Symphony Hills opened. "Orchid (Moonlight)" was presented to Katsushika Ward in 100 as a token of their friendship to commemorate the 2004th anniversary of the establishment of the ward system of his Florisdorf Ward in Vienna, which is a friendship city.
Currently, ``Orchid (Sunlight)'' and ``Orchid (Moonlight)'' are carefully displayed in each ward as a bridge between the two wards.

We were commissioned by Katsushika City to create a painting to match the walls of the reception hall at Katsushika Symphony Hills, which was also used as a wedding venue at the time. The flower that serves as the motif is the cattleya, which has a flower language of ``elegance'', so I chose it as the motif because I felt it would be perfect for the reception venue. The sphere in the background is the sun, expressing its fierceness. In addition, ``Orchid (Moonlight),'' which is the counterpart to this work, expresses a calm atmosphere by depicting a white cattleya against the moon, creating a work that expresses opposite meanings.
