When Yamamoto-tei opened, they wanted to display a painting on the mantelpiece installed in the phoenix room, so I received a request from Katsushika City to create a piece that would be appropriate for the space. We chose roses as the motif because roses do not have four seasons and continue to bloom all year round, so we wanted many people to visit Yamamoto-tei throughout the year.
