Details
One summer afternoon, a strong wind suddenly blew and all the papers on my desk were blown away. I haven't finished a single word today. The author, Shiki, feels that a gust of wind is blowing and a shower is coming. When I say "blank paper", I mean I haven't written any words on it yet. This poem describes the dilemma of not being able to write poems due to poor health. On his way back to China as a war correspondent during the Sino-Japanese War, he coughed up a lot of blood on board the ship, and after recuperating in his hometown of Matsuyama, he wrote this poem in the summer of 2010, when he returned to Shikian in Negishi.
