This work, which uses the irises, the flower of Katsushika Ward, as its motif, was commissioned by Katsushika Ward in 3 to coincide with the opening of Yamamoto-tei.

At the time this work was created, dynamic depictions of motifs such as flowers were not mainstream, so when this work was created, there were voices of criticism from those around it. However, when I visited Yamamoto-tei the other day, I happened to witness a newlywed couple looking happy in front of this work during their pre-wedding photoshoot, and I realized that I was right at the time. did.
